Christmas is only a month away and we, Journey Home, wanted to give you all a way to participate in engaging families this Christmas season so here are a few ways you can do so. 

Community Dinner - Tuesday nights

We have 4 community dinners between now and Christmas. We are trying to find ways to make it an engaging time for the families, kids included. With that being said, we have landed on the idea of having outside help to run a Christmas kid's craft to give families some joyful decorations for Christmas. We would love to invite up to 4 people per night to help run one of these crafts! Should you have any ideas or if you are available to do this one Tuesday in December, please let us know!

Annual Christmas Celebration - Dec 8, 2023

We have been blessed to have enough help with volunteering. However, we need donations for gifts to raffle off to families. Ideas for raffles would be anything that is new (i.e. used/like new iPad, family pass to a fun place, sporting equipment, used/like new computer), that a refugee claimant family could practically use. As such, you are invited to help the families by donating any of these items (or anything else proposed) by December 1st. 

Pancake Breakfast - Dec 22, 2023

We require a couple of volunteers for set up and take down so if you are free and willing, come on down to celebrate Christmas cheer with us. 

Christmas Baskets for Refugee Families - 10 required

We invite you or your small group to participate by purchasing and assembling the items listed below in a seasonal basket. We would require all baskets dropped off at the Journey Home office by December 15th, 2023. We will ensure that the baskets get to a wonderful family. *Please note we can accept only assembled baskets at this time, not just individual items.*

Items for each Christmas Basket:

• 4x pairs of Mittens4x Warm Hat

• 4x Scarves

• 2x Umbrella

• 4x Slippers (various sizes)

• 1x Box of Fancy Tea 

• 1x Bag of Fancy Coffee

• 1x Box of Chocolate

• 1x Bag of Candied Fruits

• 1x Box of nuts

• 1x Personalized Christmas Card
